Hat for Chloe

I already made Chloe a hat like this but it was too small. She gave it to Mya. So I made two of these. One is a little bigger than the other. Now I am worried it may be too big. Oh noooooooo!!! But I looked the hat over. Christi can add a piece of elastic on the inner back of the hat. This will make it gather and be a bit smaller. The hat will still look great.
Oh, this is my new model. Hee hee its me!!!

Embroidered hand towel

Here are all the towels folded up. Gives a better look.

Hand towels

I bought some terry cloth and had some of this cotton fabric. So I made bia's and attached it to the terry cloth. Now here are hand towels. I did them two different ways to see which I like better. I personally like the bottom one I think but what is your opinion. Thank you

Rival Scarf

This guy, Pete, that I barely know, who is a friend of Buzzy's, went crabbing during the summer with Buzzy. Well he would give me lots of crabs and in exchange I would make him crab cakes. Believe me, I got the better deal. Anyway he is a fan of both the rival teams in Maryland and DC so I made him a scarf, at his request, with one side Ravens and one side Washington Redskins. I had to use cotton on the Redskins. You can only get the fabric if you order on line now. I was not going through that. I already had the Ravens left over.

I have been wanting these to put on things I made but never got around to getting them. My wonderful daughter got these for my birthday. Very thoughtful I would say. Thank you Christi

Kyle PJ's

This was made for Kyle for Christmas. He is going to be happy to have warm pj's. He told me he needed warm ones.

Hats for Chloe

Here are some hats I made for Chloe. My model was very good. She kept still and let me put the hat on her without any argument. She was the best model there is. Isn't she pretty.

This is the same kind of hat but I made the rim white. I used the same model. She was cheap.

Now this is a different style and was not as easy to make. Being all black you cannot tell how its made but the pic below of the same hat, which is black and the pic turned out gray, well you can see the difference in the style. Like my model again. She is the best.

I had taken this pic before my model came in. Same hat just for some reason pic turned the hat gray.

A coat for one of the girls

I am so proud how this coat turned out. This was made for Tira, I like to start out with her each time because she takes less fabric. Ok the pattern did not call for the hood and cuffs to be contrast. But I thought it would look much better than just all one pattern. I now have to get a pattern to fit the other two. These are not winter coat as they have no liner and are made of fleece. But will be warm enough for the spring. I have plenty of time.

Hats, scarves and more slippers

I made the ones below first because Tira wanted a hat, scarf and gloves cuz Joshua had some. So I decided to make her some. Then I had more fabric left over but not enough to make it like the other one. But it turned out nice I think. The I am a Star, on the hat could have been a bit lower but it looks good.

This is the one I made first. Tira has a pink coat so it will look nice.

Well here I go again. More slippers. Well being in Maryland is a problem when making the kids stuff to wear. I get the sizes wrong sometimes. These are for Joshua, the ones I made him were to narrow. He has wide feet. But I like these much better anyway. He will love the puppy I embroidered on them.

Here are both my babies in their Christmas coats. This way when we stroll throught the park and go to Pets Mart, they are in spirit with the season.

Here is my Oscar by himself. He was really good for me taking the picture. He would usually run away but he loves his coats.

For my Tootsies

I made these for me. They look pretty good, but as always I pick my stuff apart. I know you are looking and saying what is wrong this time, Cindy. Well I spelled Survivor wrong. Duh!!!! I even checked it first before I accepted the word. Well they are wearable at least. Hee Hee

Footie tootsie time!!!

Well here we go, boot slippers, thats what they call them. I noticed some were not so rounded at the toes. Well I will just have to get better. These are not hard to make and wow!! do they keep your toosties warm. I already made myself a demo pair and I really like them. Chloe asked for Guitar on hers. Check out the words on the second pink one from the top. All the words are the bottom are the same.

More coats

Well two more doggy coats. Madison butt is in my pic.

Doggy Coats

Well I sold four of the coats I made. All to one women. She bought three for her Yorkie and one for her daughters dog.

Friday, November 21, 2008

Well I went to Pets Mart and had my dogs with me and they had their coats on. This lady stopped me and asked where i got the coats. I explained that I made them. So she asked if I would make her one for her Yorkie. So I just kept making more. I had all this scrap fabric left from last year. There was enough to make the x-small coats and one small. I meet with the lady tomorrow, she may buy two.

For my youngest grandson Joshua

This fabric is darker. I don't know why my lights make things different shades. Anyway these are for Joshua.

Chloe and Mya shirts

I made these for Chloe and Mya, I already had Tira's done. This pattern only went up to a size 8. Chloe is a size 12. I had to enlarge the pattern. Joanns had something to use to make patterns. It was not real hard but I was just under preasure worrying that it may not work out. As you can see it did. I made the two younger ones out of fabric I got from Freecycle. I didn't have enough for Chloe so I had to purchase some. The fabric is close but not close enough to me. I hope they all like their shirts. Oh I had bought Christmas pants last year and made these to match.

Bella"s

I use to wait tables at this restaurant down the street. Atfter making the other scarves I decided to make the two owners each one. This is what I embroidered on them. But the two they got also had the phone number on it. My plug to my machine was loose and so the machine went out. Since it was only part done. I cut the bottom off where the phone number was.
Oh and to people who don't know. Bella's most times has Maryland Crabs.

Saturday, October 25, 2008

I bought this fleece last year. Thought the doggy coat thing would go over well. It didn't and I thought I would use it this year. So instead of doggy coats, I made scarves out of the fabric.

Tira Christmas dress

I bought these pants last year after Christmas sale. I thought I could use these for this year for the girls. So decided I would make shirts to match. This is Tira's. I figured I would make hers first since it was smaller. I am going to do Chloe's next, just in case I run out of fabric. I hope I have enough but if not, I can always use a blue for Mya.

toppers for the living room

I needed to fix the look in the living room. I had gotten this fabric from freecycle and never did anything with it yet. Well it matched the living room walls I just painted and I didn't paint the walls that color for that reason. It just worked out that way. I am happy with the project done.

I made this bible cover for Chloe for her birthday. It was not really easy to make. The directions that came with the pattern were not written clear enough to understand them. Christi helped me with the directions a bit. My problem was, when I put a liner in anything it usually covers the edges up. So I was stumped at that but we got through it and here it is.

Here is the embroidery I put on it. Christi picked out the pattern.

I wish I had embroidered this in a different direction but I was thinking when she picked it up and held it open that the words would then be in the right place.

Shirts for Mya and Tira

Finally I learned how to embroider four lines at the same time. I READ THE DIRECTIONS!! I have a big problem with reading directions, takes up my time. I would rather be told how to do it. Been like that all my life. But Christi said to me one day that my machine should be able to do more than one line at a time. So weeks later, here I am reading the directions to do shirts for two of the girls.

Food this time

I know its my sewing blog but Christi told me how to make this for a birthday party tomorrow, for our Aunt. Well it turned out pretty good except I didn't use peas, instead I used brocolli. It was just sooo soooo good.

Oscar's toy

Well this is Oscar toy and I didn't pay attention to detail. The default on this machine is large and I forgot to change it so the R on Oscar had to be sewn in the corner. Oh well just practice anyway.

Madison toy

Ok stop laughing, I know it looks a bit dorky but its for my Madison. She likes stuffed toys. So I figured I would embroider a face on it for her. The Name Madison that is in cursive on the side, well I didn't check it first so it didn't do it correctly. The bold name Madison turned out like it was suppose too. I did it right the second time. Hey! Maybe before too long I will have this machine down in my brain good. Hee Hee ha ha

Doll clothes again

Chloe asked me to make her American Doll a shirt and pants. Well I got carried away. Here are two shirts and two pants for Chloe.

This is an extra dress for Tira and Mya to share

I made two each of these. So Mya and Tira had a set each.

Chloe's Shirt

This shirt looks pink but it is a light orange, I made this for Chloe cuz the purple one I made her was too big. So I wanted to make one that she could wear now. But it looks pink in this pic. I had a hard time with the sleeves cuz the fabric is the same on both sides and I for some reason was all confused. But I finally got it and now its done.

Christi's pj's

I got this fabric from freecycle and made Chloe and me a shirt out of it and Christi loved the fabric so she asked for a pair of pj pants. I had a bit of a problem serging the edge, I just wanted the inside to look nice. Well my serger does not like going against the groves in the fabric. I fooled with it several times till I told Christi she may have to fix it when she gets them. Well I then thought of doing it the old fashion way, with my sewing machine. So below shows you the finish the sewing machine did. Now I am happy.

shirts

Here is my recent shirt but didn't realize how busy the pattern was, a little to much I say.

This is a shirt I made a while ago, when I made Chloe's top. Don't worry Christi, I still have the fabric left to make your pants.

doll clothes

Ok here are some more doll clothes and I embroidered too! The green thing is a vest, It says My Mom Rocks. Then you have the poncho made of fleece too. The blue shirt I embroidered too! Then the pants, made of scrap fabric from the younger girls nite gowns. I am done for doll clothes for a bit. Going to make myself something again.
