I made this for my car to hook to the back seat. The pockets for the cd's could be a little deeper but I went by the pattern and this is what it came out to be. Anyway I split up the fabric for Ravens and Breast Cancer as you can see. Really don't know what I need this for but had the pattern for a long time and the fabric has just been sitting around. So I am using what I have. It took patience and hey, something else to do besides hanging out on facebook all day.

Well I am doing beads because I just can't seem to stay focused on my sewing. I had to downsize my room because of the showing of the house so I don't have my large table and my machines are all on one desk, which gives me little room and less motivation. So I started the beads. These are necklaces for Mya and Tira. I have to redo a clamp on Tira's. Guess I didn't sqeeze hard enough so it would not come loose. Ooppps!!

Here are ankle bracelets as requested Christi and Chloe. Chloe wanted green and I could not decide on Christi's so I made her two. She wanted brown.

I got this chair from an office job, Buzzy did. Well its in good condition but it looks worn. So Since I made those window toppers in that one room. I decided to do the chair like it. The seat has elastic around it just in case I need to wash it and the back comes off too.

Ok I know I am nuts. It started out with just a couple hats, then Chloe wanted me to make another hat for her friend so I told her to give one of hers to the girl and I would make her different colors. Well I then made a green and a blue and Mya a multi color and Tira and Trinity Black. Well Tira said her hat is too tight so I told her I would make her another. She wanted one like Mya. Well there I went with my scraps to make more hats and didn't count right. One multi-color for Chloe, one for Tira, one for Trinity and Mya had one. Hmmmm so I have and extra medium hat. The coat I made for Christi didn't fit, so Chloe got it. So how can a girl have a jacket without a matching hat. I had to make two because, I don't remember which brown I used. So Chloe has two brown and white hats too. I am so done with these hats. I think I will hide the pattern from myself. This way I will not even think of making more hats. Hee hee hahah

It always seems like I go overboard when I make things for the kids. Like the purses and the dresses with everything to match. Well Chloe's friend wanted a hat like hers. Chloe had one that was a bit big for her. I told her to give her that one and I would make another out of a different color. She picked blue first then green. So I made her one of each. Then I could not leave Tira out cuz Mya had one from before. So then I didn't want to not leave Trinity out, Jennifer's girl, since Christi and her are close friend. So I made her one. Then I had some fabric I was going to toss so I made Mya another hat. Goofy me!!

These are embroideries I bought but the NFL takes forever to do and also a lot of thread.

This one did not turn out good, you can see between the yellow and the white the black. Well that should have been full of white. But it did not do it. I am e-mailing the people I got it from.

This one I really wanted and was hoping the Ravens would go all the way. But they did make it this far and that is good too. They should be proud either way, though their fans would not agree with me.

I made this jacket for Christi. I had a bit of a hard time as I usually do with a new pattern. But I got it done. I have not sewn the buttons on yet, they are just pinned. Not sure if I want them there or not. It didn't call for any. It calls for snaps to hold the jacket shut. I will have to get some and then sew them on the inside. The jacket looks much much better than the pic.

I already made Chloe a hat like this but it was too small. She gave it to Mya. So I made two of these. One is a little bigger than the other. Now I am worried it may be too big. Oh noooooooo!!! But I looked the hat over. Christi can add a piece of elastic on the inner back of the hat. This will make it gather and be a bit smaller. The hat will still look great.

This guy, Pete, that I barely know, who is a friend of Buzzy's, went crabbing during the summer with Buzzy. Well he would give me lots of crabs and in exchange I would make him crab cakes. Believe me, I got the better deal. Anyway he is a fan of both the rival teams in Maryland and DC so I made him a scarf, at his request, with one side Ravens and one side Washington Redskins. I had to use cotton on the Redskins. You can only get the fabric if you order on line now. I was not going through that. I already had the Ravens left over.

Hats for Chloe

Here are some hats I made for Chloe. My model was very good. She kept still and let me put the hat on her without any argument. She was the best model there is. Isn't she pretty.

This is the same kind of hat but I made the rim white. I used the same model. She was cheap.

Now this is a different style and was not as easy to make. Being all black you cannot tell how its made but the pic below of the same hat, which is black and the pic turned out gray, well you can see the difference in the style. Like my model again. She is the best.

A coat for one of the girls

I am so proud how this coat turned out. This was made for Tira, I like to start out with her each time because she takes less fabric. Ok the pattern did not call for the hood and cuffs to be contrast. But I thought it would look much better than just all one pattern. I now have to get a pattern to fit the other two. These are not winter coat as they have no liner and are made of fleece. But will be warm enough for the spring. I have plenty of time.

I made the ones below first because Tira wanted a hat, scarf and gloves cuz Joshua had some. So I decided to make her some. Then I had more fabric left over but not enough to make it like the other one. But it turned out nice I think. The I am a Star, on the hat could have been a bit lower but it looks good.

This is the one I made first. Tira has a pink coat so it will look nice.

Well here I go again. More slippers. Well being in Maryland is a problem when making the kids stuff to wear. I get the sizes wrong sometimes. These are for Joshua, the ones I made him were to narrow. He has wide feet. But I like these much better anyway. He will love the puppy I embroidered on them.

Well here we go, boot slippers, thats what they call them. I noticed some were not so rounded at the toes. Well I will just have to get better. I made these for Chloe and Mya, I already had Tira's done. This pattern only went up to a size 8. Chloe is a size 12. I had to enlarge the pattern. Joanns had something to use to make patterns. It was not real hard but I was just under preasure worrying that it may not work out. As you can see it did. I made the two younger ones out of fabric I got from Freecycle. I didn't have enough for Chloe so I had to purchase some. The fabric is close but not close enough to me. I hope they all like their shirts. Oh I had bought Christmas pants last year and made these to match.

I use to wait tables at this restaurant down the street. Atfter making the other scarves I decided to make the two owners each one. This is what I embroidered on them. But the two they got also had the phone number on it. My plug to my machine was loose and so the machine went out. Since it was only part done. I cut the bottom off where the phone number was.

I needed to fix the look in the living room. I had gotten this fabric from freecycle and never did anything with it yet. Well it matched the living room walls I just painted and I didn't paint the walls that color for that reason. It just worked out that way. I am happy with the project done.

I made this bible cover for Chloe for her birthday. It was not really easy to make. The directions that came with the pattern were not written clear enough to understand them. Christi helped me with the directions a bit. My problem was, when I put a liner in anything it usually covers the edges up. So I was stumped at that but we got through it and here it is.

Here is the embroidery I put on it. Christi picked out the pattern.

I wish I had embroidered this in a different direction but I was thinking when she picked it up and held it open that the words would then be in the right place.

Finally I learned how to embroider four lines at the same time. I READ THE DIRECTIONS!! I have a big problem with reading directions, takes up my time. I would rather be told how to do it. Been like that all my life. But Christi said to me one day that my machine should be able to do more than one line at a time. So weeks later, here I am reading the directions to do shirts for two of the girls.

I got this fabric from freecycle and made Chloe and me a shirt out of it and Christi loved the fabric so she asked for a pair of pj pants. I had a bit of a problem serging the edge, I just wanted the inside to look nice. Well my serger does not like going against the groves in the fabric. I fooled with it several times till I told Christi she may have to fix it when she gets them. Well I then thought of doing it the old fashion way, with my sewing machine. So below shows you the finish the sewing machine did. Now I am happy.

Well I have all this extra fabric that I hate to toss away. So I decided to make clothes for the girls dolls. Here are three sets. Now the white shirt was to say I love you, but I ran out of bobbin thread and did not know how to make it continue. So it just got messed up. I did get it to say I love you but there is an extra y and some mark that looks like nothing. Can you see the knees of the blue pants well, I embroidered them. Cool Huh!!

Grammy loves me

Ok this was a regular T shirt but now cut to be a muscle shirt. WHY?? Well I wanted to embroider Grammy loves me on a shirt for Kyle. Did good on the Grammy part but could not figure out how to get the needle to move down for the second line so I decided to just move it myself. Well the Loves Me turned out nice but there was only one problem. The sleeve was embroidered with the Love me and it was ruined. Kyle said its ok Grammy, you were practicing anyway. Well I tossed it in the trash. Kyle saw it and took it out and said you are going to throw it away? I told him it was ruined and he said maybe you can cut that part off and the idea came to me. Cut the shirt into a muscle shirt. Kyle is happy now and I am satisfied. So here it is. I did cut the sleeve inside as close as I could. He said it was lumpy but he also said he didn't care.

Ok I know I went overboard and I have no idea why but here is another dress, shorts, hats, purses and for the American doll there is a sleveless dress with a poncho to keep them warm on a chili day.
I know I am crazy but hey, what can I say, when my grandchildren love me to sew, and I love to sew, and they ask their Grammy to make them birthday presents. Well I just have to do it. Mya had only asked for one dress but I had to make her two and Tira to match. Now Tira has no idea about the matching dresses. So she will be totally surprised. It was a hard to make up my mind to send them the same day or days later, but Tira may be upset when she sees the baby clothes. So we, Christi and I, decided to send separate packages but mail the same day.

Now the pair on the right are stretch so of course I can get them on but the other pair, even though they look bigger than the others, well the waist is not big enough. My first colored embroidery

Ok Christi suggested that I try to embroider my towels first. So that I can get use to it. I thought what a great idea. You really can't hurt the towels. After all who really looks at them. Anyway I took this dish towel and put a butterfly on it, as you can see. It looks really great, only one thing. I put it on sideways, instead of longways. So If I fold the towel and hang it on my stove. Well you cannot see my butterfly. Practice makes perfect.

I keep trying different patterns because I want to better my skills. I have forgotten so much. So here is another shirt. This pattern confused me. It showed buttons on the front of the package but no where in the directions did it show you how to do the buttons. I thought they must be buttons just for looks but then I could not understand how you would get the shirt on. So I had to make adjustments and create my own button holes.

Another shirt for Joshua. I had some problems with the collar again but I think I may have it down now. I did have another problem too. Scroll down and see.

The button hole would not work on this particular spot. It kept getting stuck and messed it up so much after two tries that it was unfixable. So I had to do something that would make it not look too bad. Scroll down and see.

I had to make a little pocket for decoration. Then put the button hole below. Though I do not like it this way. I just could not think of any other fix.

The sun is hitting it in this pic so the right side looks weird but here is the finished shirt. Christi wanted plaids but she never thought about how hard plaids can be. I think I did a pretty good job matching the plaids on this one. One more shirt for him to go. Yes more plaids.

This is a Hannah Montana pattern. I saw it in the Simplicity book and just knew Chloe would like it. It took a bit of work and a few fixes of mistakes. Like the sleaves I wanted both front to be red but messed up and had to do with what I cut out. The sleeves were to be sewed differently but I didn't read that part in the pattern. So I fixed it up and it worked out just fine and looks the same. I am just so happy how it
turned out.

The pain in the butt shirt

I had so much trouble with this shirt but wanted to keep going even though the serger cut a piece of the fabric, then even though I cut another piece with the scissors. I doctored it up the best i could. It does not look great but wearable.

Ok this is a shirt. The sleeves need a bit adjusting cuz they are tight so I have to think about how to do that. Anyway I did good on the buttonholes. Its not as hard as I thought. Now on my way for another shirt. Just to improve as I go. I could use lots of shirts.

Ok this is the same shirt. The sleeves were too tight and I had to make an adjustment. So I ripped the seam out, cut off the surging and then cut a piece of blue fabic to make an interfacing and there I go, no sleeves but a nice look.

I made these for Christi. They look a bit big if you ask me but mine shrunk a lot so these will too. This is fabric I bought for myself originally but I thought they would be a nice touch for her.
